The personal journey of young photographer Pascal Bastien brought him to Cap d’Ail, where a serendipitous encounter led to this exhibition at Villa Les Camélias. Shot over the course of summer wanderings, the series captures the carefree essence of vacationers against the backdrop of Cap d’Ail’s dramatic coastline.
These timeless black-and-white images pay silent tribute to Jacques Henri Lartigue, who photographed the same places 90 years earlier. Taken with a Rolleiflex camera, the images were printed on baryta paper and displayed within the villa’s Belle Époque setting.
